Really like this one. Maybe something similar but not as intense? Only thing that looks particularly hard would be the ship and the planet. The rest is all just rocks essentially, which wouldn't require you to make a ton of them, as long as you get creative in using them.
Thats a creative choice you have to make since we're not bound by any lead technical artists or game engines or whatnot. Id mirror the minor things but keep important things unmirrored. btw did you work out the kinks in your normals map?
Since Days I'm creating the Lowpoly models and Unwrapping them... i'ts so technical and a part of the process, which is soooo non creative! My Brain is a slushy... :s But soon I'm done, and then it goes to baking and texturing. I can't wait to be finished with this part... T_T
Very creative model, texture , etc. Just to me final scene image and specially lighting could be better to show details and your effort much better. i like your marmoset engine render much more which show details much better!
I'm not too hip on massive customization after seeing the end results. Look at Secondlife or LBP, %95 of the user creative content is ugly as sin therefore making your product look bad. I even think Aion was a little too loose with it's character customization:
I had a really hard time working alone in my bedroom all day... I don't think that's the life for me. I think if I wanted to jump into freelance again someday, I'd try to get an office with other like-minded creative types.
Well done Adam! The artistic creativity and joy shows through, I hope you all had a great time bashing through the hours and keeping each others back through the internal deadlines. Just ride on the wave of accomplishment dude, enjoy it, you've earned it!
Very good on you to keep up the 9-5. Schedule is really helpful. You're really motoring through this little guy! Comin along very nicely! I like that your taking your own creative liberty on the final rendering. Looking forward to the result!
I wouldn't get too discouraged. There's a chunk of the audience that will downvote anything not historical. The categories were defined to break out of that box and see how creative people could get. We're working on options to allow players to select what they prefer to make everyone happy... :)
well it's basically a military career sim. So i think i'm gonna have to go with something like "creative ops commander in chief" then I can carry a gun. And make all them silly programmers salute to me. sounds like a good day.
