all 3 at 15 k? i mean sorta sounds right i suppose. Wish we had a bit more guidance seeing as some of us have never done this hahaha but they did say no limit just dont go crazy. so i think 13k to maybe 18k for all 3 would be optimal. not sure about the UVs, can we do 2048? seems kinda high for this style.

I would use a simple approach. Basically all you have to do is : ( 1 - glossiness ) * numofmipmaps. In my case it's 7. My setup : If your are using phong or blinn you might want to multiply your glossiness by 128 in order to get a range of 0 - 1 to avoid value like 180 or 200. But with a cook torrance or a spherical…
Working on a 1847 Colt Paddington style pistol currently. Going to be making all of the internals as well, so I am slowly taking my time to make sure I get this right. There are a few things remaining that need adjustments at this step before I re-do edges (this is the high poly) and then work on all the internal parts and…
You're absolutely right BigtimeMaster, I indeed kinda missed the "all are as separate OBJ-s with UV-s" from the first post. As it sounded obvious that everything needs to be in a single fbx. My bad. About this example of a body that one needs to paint beneath a layer of clothes. As far as I'm concerned I keep both Painter…
It's a pepper-box revolver. Can't really guess as to the manufacturer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper-box *edit* Upon further review, I think it's a .36 cal Allen & Thurber, from the pre-Civil War US. Probably late 1830s-early 1840s.
Didn't you already create a thread for these same issues?: http://polycount.com/discussion/182540/ive-tried-everything-and-my-normal-map-just-isnt-working-xd-help-pleaseee#latest
If you're animating Spiderman, then maybe this would be possible, but normal people don't stick to walls...jumping vertical on a wall, making a 90° turn and run straight along the wall is absolutely impossible...you could run up a wall and do an 180° jump from the wall, or run along a wall and jump in the same direction…
