Richard Kain could also mean Mystic River, i think, which was a pretty good movie. Another example of writer/director in one: Michel Gondry. Not everyones cup of tea i'll admit, but he's made two very fine movies that i enjoyed thoroughly, and i'll assume his older ones aren't too shabby either.
Marmoset is fine for rendering ur work. Unity and Unreal are nice bonuses as I figure most of the generalist jobs will be at indie devs who use one of these two. Just be careful with tailoring ur folio as "generalist" this early in ur career. It will spread your interests too thin and you won't be able to hit peak quality…
Thanks a lot, you two! @Sam yes MD seems pretty cool, how do you mean it is "too fine and realistic weirdly"? I have been thinking about it a couple of weeks ago if I should even bother with MD and start sculpting it by from scratch or just use the MD-Stuff as a base. btw. love your stuff!! :)
Ubisoft, Epic etc. are investing in Blender and are going to go after their own interests. I think it's too soon to tell if these news are good for the average Blender user. It depends on the kind of changes that the studios will want. The two most popular 3D packages (Max and Maya) happen to be huge heavy beasts, with GBs…
Looks awesome. There are two things I noticed that you might want to revise though. Firstly, there is some obvious weirdness with the chainmail pattern, pariticularly the diagonal line it makes across his chest. Secondly, the small circular dents in his helmet's cheek plates seem a little uniform. Killer detail on the top…
ArtRage & Sketchbook Pro are the two decent art apps I'm aware of but I don't think you're really going to do much production work on it. The music production apps are pretty amazing, I've got too many to name off the top of my head right now, I can share my opinions when I get home.
Its a manned vehicle. Two ppl can ride in the dome. (aka the batcopter) http://cache.wists.com/thumbnails/a/91/a912bb7e09f9695e3a898932743d4f4e-orig The top bit will be turning into a gun turret instead of having a rider because that would not work out too well for the flying (unless you are master chief of course) Also…
Nice - looks good and tactile! I don't know Dr Who too well, do they ever explain the tech behind it? So the week two mini jam is Aliens: "We've come for dinner" Here's a quick piece from me And a WIP of Elliott for my main jam piece. Just need to add a hoodie, get him textured and on the bike.
Thanks, Eric . U4 one is nice but not that much interactive beyond shaderball from what I tried a year ago or so. And too engine specific. . No bypass command I found or baking a branch back to a texture . What about those two others. We use neither U4 nor Unity, although all engines are very close now.
Hey shep, scooby, thanks for the feedback. I agree that the current setup serves the whole more than the ship by itself. there's a few different ones on my site of course, but i don't like those as much as the two i posted. I think it's coloring a bit too red in that one. I will have to try the suggestions from your…
