Implemented the crit i got here and in the waywo thread. Calling it done! Thanks heaps guys. Without you people and the polycount hangouts, it'd still look like this -> https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/t31.0-8/1966131_1406292476303891_43506230_o.jpg
@ Nitewalkr, the demo is originally designed and developed for the PC, except the movement is more limiting with a keyboard because you only get 8 points of rotation. The game is primarily meant for consoles targeting XBLA and PSN, but we want to also release this on Steam for PC users.
Why not trying it for yourself? :) Polycount on Max depends on RAM...for example my system can handle 60-100 million polygons (smoothly)...and I have 8 gigs + 64bit. 32bit + 4 gigs ram = approx 30 Million polys (second system)
really ? 8 hours not enough for full single player action game? I just beat it in 11 hours, I never seen game like this in my life. congrats to R* max payne team it has super nice soundtracks too dang
I'll try to remember to screenshot that part next time. The technique is quick though, I modeled the rifling in straight and used a twist modifier. LP parts with test bakes. ~4400 tris so far so probably gonna end up 8-10k
I believe it's possible in both Maya and 3ds max. I had a cg shader in Maya 8 way back when that used vertex color and it should be possible anyways using the ShaderFX plugin if someone didn't already make a special shader for it already.
Yes You can totally render high level models and graphics in Unity!!! Sorry i'm late to the band wagon on this topic. But here is a in-engine render *Unity* I did this with my laptop and my laptop is 8 years old no fancy graphics card.
Thanks Vailias, Ill hit you up. I got confirmation, Ill be in the US from this friday till december the 3rd. I also make a 8 hrs stop in Seattle on Friday. Anyone care to meet nearish to the airport? That would be so ace!
At 7-8 years old while playing on deluxe paint on amiga. Then I though that it would be wiser to chose a "standard" job, but I've end up as 3d artist in pre-render production so I just made a step into video game O.o.
prolly more oriented to the average person than pros, kinda like apps you would find on the android app store etc. there seeing online apps stores for OS X, and windows 8 will also have it;s own, so they want to compete.
