Hello guys. I am having some trouble with rendering my model. I am making a house and just finished the UVW map. I would like to make a clay render and use that technique to bake a nice base to start my texture with. The technique I use is a very simple common renderer, white skylight and Light Tracer as advanced lighting.…
Hi GluFlu A couple of things.... First of all MODELER not Modeller, thats a big one. If you want to focus on modeling, then clay renders are fine. If you are going to go through the trouble of texturing and lighting, then really take the time to make it shine. I think that your lighting is what needs to most work right…
I am working on a scene and at start to have a lot of light in it. At a certain point when i was duplicate light to place them some that were already in the scene stop working, It seem like the is a certain limit for the amount of light you can have in a scene. I am not sure what to thing of this bug and how to fix it. all…
Update: Ok so had a look at boosting the ambient lighting somewhat. Still could be improved I think but maybe going in the right direction. What do you think? Got a couple of shrub sized plants done too. Next big ticket is the trees which finding it bit tricky with. Might post a WIP of the branch texture for some advice.
I think all of your trees could use some sort of back light and accentuation. Remember that the moon is really bright and big.. so some of that should be bouncing off certain areas. It's also a good way to direct the eye of the viewer around, right now there is a lot of black that just narrows the interest. At least that…
is that supposed to be some sort of stone? I think if you tweak your darks and lights to have more separation it would help. Right now the colors are a little flat because of this. The wood has red paint on it? IF so, you might want to check some reference on how paint chips, scratches and wears off of wood. Would you be…
Thanks for the tips i really appreciate it ! Yes you are right i dont have a background since its just like quick works i do so i dont want to spend time on making backgrounds that might not turn out well. Ill definitely get me some books. I wanted to get into lighting and composition anyways! : )
Got a bit of a head start. Blocked out and worked on a few things. Something isn't feeling right translating the concept to more natural proportions. Going to see if I can exaggerate some things and find a balance. Hair is a placeholder. Going with planes for game res. Here's the skin matcap if anyones wondering. It was a…
Oh, those look really helpful, I have been having trouble getting tight folds. I was thinking about how I can make them better and will take a look this evening, might practice a little at work today as I have access to zbrush there now. Will post some more screens tonight, no time right now. Ta.
alright last post for the night, I have yet to reposition the legs. will do that tomorrow. Lower right is what im thinking about doing for the mouth. I did have a buddy suggest having the teeth come from the sides of the mouth instead of top and bottom and I thought that was pretty funny so might go with that. Keep the C&C…
