Cheers moose, yeah I slapped the texture on quick to the tube.. I tweaked the uvws and texure which fixed it but I decided to drop that from the render anyway. I changed the nose plaster too, it works better now;) pic at the top
Well, in a Plastered Face Shooter, you can really do what every you want, because everyone is too drunk to notice. . . unless you were talking about a Pretty Freakin' Small game, and then of course, you can get away with pretty low poly counts. :D
I agree with trying to get some harder edges in there. It sort of looks like play-doh teamed up with mudbox. Needs alot of work to get that tiled. Avoid repetitive patterns like that large plaster seam going through the middle. And that little crack on the right doesn't help either.
i tried, but even then tons of news sources just copy and paste off each other so by the time the source is changed everyone's using the wrong version anyway. meh. ah well, I'll just have to try make an impression on the day and plaster my logo everywhere :D
You haven't seen Northwest Falcon Computers then. (Or for that matter Apple) Hboybowen, aren't they just using one of the sager or whitebox with their names plastered on. I saw similar speced for at least $100-250 less on xotic pc. My Laptop comes Friday.
still too far apart, too large. shape looks fine, though. whole head looks a bit too wide. cheekbones seem to stick out farther than the ears. noise bump looks more like plaster than skin.
Thanks Kate! really enjoy seeing your recent artwork too :D Quick update for today, polished up the Plaster texture, and made a blend material with a dirty/damaged version. I think the texturing style is starting to become clear for me now :) https://twitter.com/i/status/1371698179645710340
My biggest piece of advice for starting Zbrush: for the love of God, don't subdivide several times too early then plaster alphas all over it. It will look like a lumpy turd with alphas on it. Always take your time with each subdivision level and only go up when you truly need to.
Nice start mate, good ethos as well. I would have a look at the base of the cart (the wooden part at the bottom of the carriage). At the moment it looks a little like wall plaster instead of wood. Change the hue so that its closer to brown and perhaps add a subtle wood overlay. Good luck.
ARe we supposed to get ads that are "relevant to the interest of artists"? I haven't seen anything egregious, but refreshing a few times has brought up adds for plaster board and funeral insurance. That said, it's Ebay about 85% of the time and Knald another 10% or so.
