will do soon I've got flats and stuff for some of the props that I made. I need to fix the spec on this just haven't gotten around to it :P The post which is barely visible ^^ all textures for props are at 512 the fence is 512x256 and 256x256 will get some other stuff up tomorrow.
it seems all props screenshots are taken w/o any lighting, pure diffuse ingame, however, there's baked vertex lightmaps on buildings and all props are lit correctly and look more contrast and volumetric whole art direction for RT assets was revolving around the idea of keeping black to minimum
Yes, I agree I do need to add 3d props, environments and game art related pieces on my site. I will be adding some 3d props, hopefully by this weekend and over the course of this week. Thank you guys, I am a rookie, but I definitely want to improve.
I was always impressed with the good planning that went into the levels and props in gears 1, made the project i was on look like a joke at the time. Nice to see this good planning goes all the way down to the asset creation front. Props to you and your team from a fellow pro
These are just my two cents from the perspective of a stylistic prop artist, but hopefully some of my words might help a little! As others have suggested in this thread, in regard to not having experience, you could always try your hand at freelancing/commission work for indie devs. While they may not be able to provide a…
Hi! Here is my first props for the 3December. I'm late......It took me too much time..... Maybe 10h or 12h on two days :/ I'll never imagine how beneficial this 3December would be to learn how to estimate and manage my time! Next props will be simpler! : D Thanks to Betty Jiang for his wesome concept…
Some small progress on a couple of props to fill in the walls, some paintings (originals by Zdzisław Beksiński, a Polish painter I love). I am particularly happy with the oil paint cracks and roughness, gilded wood frames are not perfect, but I am happy with them as they are, since they are not hero props :)
Individual props and using trim sheets wherever possible to save on texture time. It also you to be more flexible with seeing how things fit together. Basically adult legos! The Marble of the helipad and walkway are one prop. Stairs , helipad concrete area, lights, etc. all separate
@rezinekk Thanks! That material took way too long to set up right and I still need to tweak with values. More props done. General store props are starting to get together. I still have few models that I need to make and then onto next buildings :)
I've "finished" (nothing is ever finished) the character sculpt now and have moved on to the props. I threw together a quick vray render for fun. The 1st prop is a flintlock pistol knife, I stumbled across these when doing research for my other flintlock and thought it was a cool idea.
