This is what I have been working on so far, desaturating the colors, trying to be more detailed with the rust(thinking right now it is too rusty still). I also want to try add some wear to the walls like below (Instead of just rust). I will keep in mind not to make it too busy with the wearing elements though. Please let…
I agree about finding reference. Use images of clay sculpts people have done of busts (not just digital) something with simple lighting that'll show off the forms good. Try not to use diffusely lit photos of people as it's not as easy to see the plane changes of the head. Seriously, as much reference as possible is KEY…
This has grown to truly epic proportions. The list of plagiarised sources is pretty ridiculous at this point. Stock poser assets, a WETA bust, motifs from the LOTR RTS main menu, even the concept art includes badly-done traces of movie stills (someone pointed out a goblin creature from Legend). I need to torrent this game…
A quick update on progress. Got side-tracked for a bit, but continuing forward again now. nickcomeau Called me out on not having more progress on the parts I was showing - the head was really only blocked-in, but I should have removed it. ;) I went over my topology a bit and did some clean-up work. The transition on the…
when it comes to rock type assets, a lot of time can be "wasted" in zbrush. The thing about rocks, is they have a very even similar texture throughout the object, it's not important to make specific areas of the rock unique, as you can see on the bottom example rocks. I would suggest making a tileable texture that looks…
This is derived from the Level Design Vs. Env. Artist thread. The topic here is creating textures for realistic art themes. Here's a quote from one of the replies from the above thread to get this discussion going. In my opinion using CGTextures or other libraries is a colossal time saver. Lots of companies - the majority…
carvuliero already outlines a few good points, especially with the long neck and small head. From what I can tell on the concept art, I think you have some anatomy issues on the torso side profile. You'll have to look up some actual side profiles, but I tried to hack out an outline to give you an idea on what I mean. + The…
I’ve got the body and face sculpted, and I’m planning to put together a timelapse video before the tournament ends. The clothes are already done in Marvelous Designer, so the patterns are finished but I just need to refine them, clean the topology, do the UVs etc.
Government shouldn't have given the banks any money anyway and the banks lending out money is how we got in this mess to begin with. You want more lending? To who? More irresponsible people? The market is reacting the way it is because we are broke and the price of houses are too high. We've already borrowed everything we…
A good idea for you would be to stick with one overall reference for your M4 though mix matching your parts isn't a bad idea, it can get disorienting with many different references. Also with individual parts it is a good idea to find multiple shots of said parts at different angles so you get ideas of scale, thickness,…
