The cellar u have shown, is great. Nice detail, one level of texture quality, maybe a little more contrast bricks are need. This pipe bothering me. Why it goes through door? It should goes in other place, beneath the ceiling or in the walls corner but not through door. And also the second pipe IMO shouldn't be on the same…
Woah it looks like a power brick! Crazy! I must admit I'm always a bit skeptic with cutting edge hardware like that - isn't this bound to have driver issues? Anyways thanks for the input guys, if you have any other tips or ideas please keep them coming. As for the dual cintiq setup ... I got myself another one simply…
How about commentary on the things Apple sees fit to bundle with and try to sneak onto your system like Quicktime and Safari? God damn it if they update the apple updater just to reset my "ignore Safari updates" preferences one more time, I swear someone is getting a brick thru the window with my ipod strapped to it...…
[ QUOTE ] The problem with your lighting is lack of mood. Everything is flat shades of grey. You need color to give atmosphere. Create bluish moonlight to display a cold calm empty environment, and maybe warmer colors coming from lanterns and inside buildings to show warmth and add contrast, if that's what you're aiming…
Thanks everyone  Theres no particular tricks to it its just sculpted using a few sharp brushes (like Orb Cracks), for larger tears i like to show the excess material folding over
Looks good so far! My biggest critique would be the pile of popcorn, looks very flat and angular, the poorer quality of the model and texture sticks out compared to everything else. There are some small parts on the model which have a lot of extra detail which could be optimized. Which would give you more room to improve…
So our first meshed level for Unreal Tournament, Outpost23, just got released last Monday and I wanted to post a few screens from it. Its been a great experience so far, and it was amazing to see how many UT fans there are out there who are excited for the game. Thank you to everyone who came and played at GDC and had kind…
well, pedro has a point though - your normal map seems borked (might need to resort to a couple of tricks like exporting your tangent or even the 90 degree angle UV split trick), and it looks too clean to even have come straight out of the factory. solid modeling though!
Speaking of a metric fuckload (fL) of materials assigned in Max, my new magic trick when this causes a decrease in frames per second is exporting the entire thing to a 3DS and reimporting it in to max and gaining 20+ FPS. It's fucked that it works, but it works and I won't argue with it. Sorta like the magic-box trick in…
Blame Vadim maybe? He went and did this epic character and talks about how he does his lowpoly in triangles in his video. I can see how someone wanting to pick up his tricks would be picked up by that trick. Or maybe tucker's just doing some viral ads for these guys:
