You can also give yourself design challenges that don't need to be functional as practice. Take some screenshots of a game you like without the UI, and design a new one without worrying about what's actually possible.
Yeah nearly every laptop has some built in scroll function, but few have MMB. RE: Tab twice, yeah you tabbed over to the layers button, and hitting space is the same as a mouse click then. Not crazy. :poly142:
Only thing that bothers me is the sense of scale seems.. off, trashcans seems to be the size of cars and I have no idea how these buildings function in regards to having people in them. Then again this looks extremely awesome and I want it.
Nice modeling, nice texturing, nice renders. Good job man! Only thing with the design I'm wondering is what's the function of the bot? Like I'm trying to think of the practical application of such a design and can't really think of one.
The one thing Max uv editor has that I'm jealous of is that straighten UV island function. But I quite like the modo UV editor; especially with scripts like Farfarer's texel density toolkit and ETERA uv tools

yeah, discreet tool ftw. Gets a bit annoying because it's one of those functions who keeps turning itself on and off pretty randomly, but with that being said I cant imagine my life with maya without it anymore.
Could you elaborate a little bit? I just downloaded maya 2013, and it doesn't seem to function any different from previous versions. EDIT: Checked the 'what's new' for maya2013, doesn't mention anything about normals.
+1. Yeah, wutt :0 Anyway, I think this looks real nice :) as far as technical execution goes, but I'm not a gun person so I can't crit much on functionality/accuracy or anything. Keep going! :D
The steps listed above are all you should need to do to get a functional mirror-like reflection - there really isn't much else we can do here. Could you show an image of the result you're getting?
