I don't really think so. Marvelous is built around emulating real patterns and sewing for clothes so it would really be a weird sidestep to 3d-print them as you would do essentially the same thing except digitally. Especially considering 3d printing fabric would probably be more of a hassle than it is worth.
Thank you, ArtsyFartsy. Definitely some excellent points and will do some arranging of the portfolio. I think I shall also change 'fine art' to 'traditional' as they are all Acrylic and oils and not digital. I would love to get more insight, examples as to what appears 'dated' about some of the work, or any works that…
I think some do try to sculpt in that range who don't know any better. =] We're not all seasoned digital sculptors (yet). Many people are picking this stuff up for the first time. Just offering some general tips that work well for me and my rig (which isn't so beefy either).
I really do wish it was a bit more like the fan made version. I really try to get behind my psp, but I find it collecting dust while I plug away on my ds. On a side note, what does all this digital delivery mean for things like the used game market?
I think if a Uni has a good reputation with the game industry its always good looking into. A good point which got me to join my course was a competition it ran called Dare to Be Digital (http://www.daretobedigital.com) which is sponsored by autodesk, adobe etc, and you get mentored by games companies like blitz and…
I would go for using the 3D page for the Home Page, simple and sweet. Less buttons to push /navigate and you will get straight to the point of what your portfolio is being used for. On a further note, if you have a digital 2d art page you might want a link that leads back to the Home/ 3D page.
If you're really serious about learning then you should try buying a subscription to Eat3D, Gnomon or Digital Tutors. They'll have DVDs on the basic explanations of the tools and how to use them along with more advanced demonstrations when you're ready to absorb the information from the tutorials that aren't step by steps…
Welcome to Polycount To your credit, I instantly recognised the characters from Heroes, and that is really impressive work with just untextured low polygon heads. As you've probably noticed if idling the forums, there's a lot of people who don't even manage that kind of likeness even with meshes around the million mark,…
Hey everybody, I've recently decided I'd like to improve my art so I thought this woud be a great place to document my progress. I haven't drawn in quite a few years so I'm beginning with the basics and with a focus on environment art, I should also like to mention that I will be working digitally. With that in mind any…
Hi everyone! I am a third-year Digital Media Tech student at Birmingham City University. For my dissertation I have been looking at developing a lighting workflow to improve realism of 3D rendered exteriors. Would anyone be able to complete a really short questionnaire to help with my evaluation? I promise its only 5…
