but to answer your question more seriously. there are artstyles where you do not need to unwrap or texture. it depends on if you are happy with such a style or not. unwrapping gets more and more automated but its still an integral part of our workflow in game productions.
That is some seriously twisted sh*t. Coming along nicely so far, but you've got alot of work ahead of you to do this piece the justice it deserves. Don't let that drag you down though - stay focused and keep at it!
i was referring to that, and the "240 hours of non-stop modelling" for the other scene. So how many hours would you say you spent on the truck scene? and ... ... you're aiming your current portfolio towards the film industry? Seriously?
;) )) Seriously though, agree with most of the content of this thread so far. Interesting to hear what people are thinking. Especially agree that there needs to be more careful and effective management, more thought and a strong foothold on an idea before heading into development, and naps.
If you are going for a look like there is in the concept, yours kinda look like the teen version of the concept one, cause it's seriously more "buffed up". If not, I think yours has the shapes of a more "normal" Ironman, kinda like the movies.
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/11/saints-row-the-third-freefalling-gameplay-trailer-is-nuts/ MIND BLOWN. Seriously, this is what a video game should be. Action packed, funny as hell, and it acknowledges how ridiculous it is. Fun in it's purest form.
From what I see in the trailer, a truer adaption of a book has never been made. Seriously though, why call it World War Z if the only commonality is zombies? And even those are wildly different from the book version.
look at any next Gen game coming out, now make your art better than that, and you will have what a junior artist needs for a portfolio. Seriously. Make sure to have breakdowns showing your wireframes and maps.
Dood, no wonder you dont work there anymore. Shit sux! Seriously tho, love it. Especially Mick. Something about his face in-game...easily one of my favorite game characters in years..he's just so expressive!
The snes CD was a real mess, Nintendo seriously screwed themselfs with that one. Read the history section for the story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation As for Natal, I have it on good authority that it makes toast! Lets see you best that Sony.
