After putting aside money for my parents and brother, and money for me to be able to live nicely and comfortably I'd buy or build my own pool hall for starters. As for continuing to work, I think I'd start up my own VFX house, and steal the best talent from ILM, Digital Domain, and WETA.
Just thought I'd share this picture with yo u guys. We are going to Comic Con Honolulu next week and most all our merch has arrived via shipping, or we're wrapping up making it ourselves. Take a look at our poster :D (the picture quality is kinda poo) Here is the digital file of the print
The light shafts from the sun are at an angle. For me this is fixed when I make sure the sky sphere is centered around the play space, with a drawscale of 1000 or so, and make sure the trace distance on the dom light is very large, at least as large as the default map templates or even one digit higher, like 1000000000 or…
Thank you so much for your feedback :) ! I see what you mean about it being glossy and I'll defiantly have a go trying to change it. I'm still new to digital painting, so I am a bit unsure how to go about it. But you know what they say, practice makes perfect :D
Now let's hope for 8gb of RAM or more. The only reason I haven't bought a tablet yet is because they're all either lacking in power or use an Ntrig digitizer. My only real option right now is the discontinued Fujitsu T902 which is a bit clumsy on the design side but I've heard good things.
On a related note, I watched a making of the Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) and there was a glimpse of Bugs Bunny rendered via normal buffer. You can see it @ 5:58 From what I can tell, they draw and animate all the characters traditionally, they painted the base (unlit layer) digitally, and the final lighting was…
Umm, 1024x768 isn't HD. Personally I'd rather spend that money on a much higher quality, normal 1080p digital projector... but for what it is (a fancy Star Wars licensed toy with a butt-load of bells and whistles), the price doesn't seem too unreasonable. A lot more than I'd be willing to pay, but then I'm not much of a SW…
@ceebee: It is a pain not to watch their priceing up front but the college offers online courses, which is great...for me as well. Just how much would I be spending if I were to do environment design & digital Arts? Also for the online courses. I'd really appreciate it if you post the prices of these 2 enlisted sections.…
I don't really think so. Marvelous is built around emulating real patterns and sewing for clothes so it would really be a weird sidestep to 3d-print them as you would do essentially the same thing except digitally. Especially considering 3d printing fabric would probably be more of a hassle than it is worth.
Thank you, ArtsyFartsy. Definitely some excellent points and will do some arranging of the portfolio. I think I shall also change 'fine art' to 'traditional' as they are all Acrylic and oils and not digital. I would love to get more insight, examples as to what appears 'dated' about some of the work, or any works that…
