Decided to make a scene that is inspired by Korean traditional hanok villages surrounded by cherry blossom trees and a small garden First moodboard that has most of the elements that I want to have in my scene. Aerial view Made a rough sketch to figure out and plan the layout of my scene
Very interestnig. Great investigation, I really appreciate it. Total shot in the dark but I'm gonna see if changing my layout and menu preferences might do anything. I'll also be getting a new computer later this year so I can check on alternate machine then as well.
Removals aside, the site is very crisp, looks great and I love the minimalist approach when it comes to the text itself. I also think the texture studies are a nice touch. If you don't mind me asking what web host are you using, Weebly? Great layout.
Well, as far as I can tell his script makes the process of building up a custom layout easier. But personally I am totally fine with the existing Visual Maxscript editor - placing buttons and rollouts is the easy part, finding the useful scripts to put in there is what takes time :)
The layout seems fine, but the site requires javascript (Annoying for people who use noscript). Also you should make your email in the footer a mailto link like it is in the header. Maybe add a skype address in the contact. Not sure the web form to send a message is necessary or a good idea.
I can only recommend the polycount wiki to you.. there's some great info to get started (even though I find the current/new layout more confusing, but there's a search function) and yes I'd still start with a more simple asset than a badass ship from matrix :)
Does this happen no matter which method you try (the big texture button on the default layout, file > texture > import, and texture > import) ? Have you used a dual-monitor setup recently where maybe it is trying to pop open the dialog window outside your current monitor?
As said by many others, lighting needs to be improved majorly. Also looks like you could use a bump/normal map in that stone path to add more detail. It's a good layout and starting setup for something that could become crazy detailed if you put some more time into it.
So i have a little progress, i rebuild the complete mace and the geometry is now clean and structured like it should be. The only problem i have is the stretching again -.- I tried your method snowfly but it didn't solve it. The promised progress, the enhanced UV Layout and the "new" mace.
You're on to something with the instrument! That's a good idea :) So far today I created cement ceiling tilable texture. Also, I created wall and ceiling modular pieces so I could more easily edit the layout. Will start on the taps and such after a much needed break this morning.
