Nice backstory. Maybe you could push the concept a little bit more and it would be even more badass. Like maybe make the armor/enslaving metal parts more functional. ~ All the best!
Quixel Suite does not currently create AO maps. That functionality should be returning in the future, but for now, you can use any 3D tool like xNormal to create your AO maps.
Sry but can you make just one thread when your bringing up a question that would result in literally hundreds of threads if you used the search function? Never wanted to be this guy but shittt.
I don't see how a rating system is a good replacement for an ignore function, they serve two different purposes. Ignore is meant to ignore people, ratings (on sites like stackoverflow) are meant to sort material.
Base your approach around how you plan to implement it in the game/presentation. Does it actually need to be functional? Does the game use 3d scopes or a 2d overlay? What is the actual optic like?
http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/LightingReference.html scroll down to Light Functions I'm actually doing this in my level, probably going to post some questions about it in the udk thread. It's perfect for stained glass windows.
Does it still happen if you take out the frac function? I've seen weird things like that happen right on the boundaries where the value hits a whole number and frac rolls it around again.
Hi! You can install Zorb Tool. It's very useful script and has a lot of functions in it. But on the other hand you can use just THIS script for disabling all turbosmooth modifiers in your scene. :)
I love your idea of tapping into the creativity we all had as kids! It's too easy now, to get bogged down in the end result/function for characters. Show us how it's done, mang!
I thnk they took it down from the SDK site recently because its broken. There are some .FX shaders floating around with similar functions though if some kind polycounter wants to drop a link.
