Really really oldskool... paint in Photoshop, save, reload in your 3D app, rinse & repeat. If your 3d app reloads automagically this can be pretty fast. Not as fast as 3d paint tho.

uh why dont you copy and paste the chamfer with desired settings.. pasting it with all objects selected (it works like instance then) or just paste individually per mesh and change settings to your desire without having to reduce segments.

I feel your pain. Painter is a non-stop puzzles maker .
