Hello :) I'll be taking part as well!! First time participating in a VFX competition and frankly I have to say it's slightly intimidating but really exciting. I've got quite a few ideas of elements and approaches for those two effects but nothing solid to show yet.
Insane level of detail, nice job! What are you rendering in? It looks like you're using only point or directional lights, as the unlit parts are pure black, like under his right eyebrow. I wonder if adding an IBL would help this. Looks a lot like Wes Studi, was he an inspiration for the face?
Transfers position of vertices from target to source, even with different number of vertices. Works in object space or world space. Useful for aligning parts of character meshes, matching deformations, or synchronizing mesh segments. Demo video https://youtu.be/GZXPjzqsw8c Screenshots Download…
He's just saying be aware of where you are spending your geometry. It would be better to reduce the number of sides on some of the smaller parts and instead add additional geometry to the large pieces.
Wow, can't believe that E.T. game is even on there. Didn't they perform a mass burial with those games? I guess it IS a part of video game history though.
@GED: Thanks, unfortunately it's not MMO @DAND3D: thanks for your comment and suggestion. I totally agree on the animation part. We learnt a lot from this project :)
