Hey Thanks Both of you!, Yeah any word is good word and this housing thing is the only thing that is got me all flustered. A little about myself if anyone cares. Im 23 very laided back. I dont smoke, dont do drugs. I only socially drink(maybe once a month). Use to play in a youth symphony as a kid. Been a counsler at a…
I hope you can make it to our UH Animation Film Day this year, May 30th 2012 - to book tickets go here, we will update the website nearer the time http://uhanimation.co.uk/2009/2009-animation-expose/ We saw some great work from lots of Games Studios around the UK. I thought I would share some images and I will post up the…
hard to mention only one. mudbox: external texture files that can be directly edited, used and refreshed. stencils painting on my low res model with the normal map loaded and seeing my final result. then exporting it with FBX straight in unreal :) (this now will also apply for rigged models) ofc vector displacement…
All depends on what you're developing. I'd argue that engines like Unreal are deeply unsuited to quickfire events like jams. Maybe it'll improve in UE4, but the iteration time is just too slow as UE3 is geared towards large scale production, and flexibility comes first. Not sure if Unity is any better, not used it enough.…
If your aunt's dvd drive is SATA, then yes. If not (IDE), you would need to buy a cheap one for the new computer. And of course, you can use old HHDs (like SATA2) in any new PC with SATA3. Don't consider a ssd with such high price. If the samsung model is not on sale, there are another good choices like any ocz vector or…
>3> Thanks! Ill be hunting for kits when i get my uni grant in October. ( Realised i have £300 for the next 6 weeks xD ) Completely true about the hands. Though right now i'm leaving them rigid for rigging. As they sit even with Hp they'll be easy to rig up. Plus there a pain in the arse to move joint by joint. Well first…
@JordanN I feel you, dealing with number of people who they know they'll never see you again is JUST MINDBREAKINGLY HORRID. I really wish your 3D job hunting goes well!!! @bounchfx delivery at 4am sounds intense as hell!! Hard work does pay off, lesson learned from you :D @RyanB Whoa, that's both long and amazing list of…
Hahahahaha... sorry to disappoint, Vig. Maybe you and I can duke it out in some Thunderdome matches when Borderlands comes out ;) Sad thing is I want to get into the industry as a concept artist but that's probably not going to work out, considering most concept artists bounce around doing contract work so multi-year pros…
Great job guys, this seems great, I can't wait until all maps are generated in real time, I loathe rendering. A few suggestions that may have been mentioned: 1. When using the file browser it defaults to the Knald folder. Can it remember the last folder you used so when working with multiple files I don't have to go…
Hey Jeff I cut off my long hair during my last quarter in school for the sole purpose of job hunting. Although I figure that hair and beards are pretty commonplace in the industry, the way I looked at it was that I didn't want a potential employer to have ANY excuse to not consider me. At graduation I knew i'd have…
