I'd rather have a company offer a free game on their digital platform to get me to use it rather than force me to use it because a game I already paid for won't launch without it. Even if Origin turns out to be a frustrating waste of time, at the very least EA was nice about getting me to use it.
Scotts courses are a great source of knowledge. I just finished his Anatomy for Artists course and I honestly know a lot more than before. Every lesson is thorough. I was just about to start his Digital Sculpture class, but decided to go for classical sculpting atm, but I am sure I'll come back to it.
Here's a new personal character that I completed in my off time. This particular character was largely inspired by the fantastic character designs featured in the Digital Extremes game called Warframe. The design of the character outfits in that game appeal to me as an artist, and so I couldn't wait to create something…
Another quick one. Thanks Nemesio, yeah I haven't been in a class for, or been able to attend a figure workshop in a while not to mention take the time to read books on it, at least recently. I've got a digital copy of Bridgmans, I'll try doing some studies out of there intermixed with some material/basic form stuff.
Because the learning curve is waaaaaaaaaaay steeper in Houdini. It is bar-none the least intuitive piece of software I have ever used. And tutorials are extremely difficult to come by for it as well. Not to mention the fact that 3D work is inherently more complex than 2D work. Even Digital Tutors only really has tutorials…
I do understand where you are coming from TeeJay and I can respect that! Just thought I'd post an update here to the kickstarter which is a neat improv video to the digital paradise background beat. Enjoy! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/722291939/z4-music/posts/277247 Thanks to anyone who watches or supports!
I doubt they won't ever work on Sculptris updates. Sculptris acts as bait, to get people interested in digital sculpting and thus maybe a possible upgrade to Zbrush. And honestly, Zbrush is not that pricey. Just save your pennies :) It is absolutely worth it. Otherwise, Blender has also some nice sculpting tools with a…
Think I'll go ahead and post in this thread! Sorry if it's too many images. Found a bunch of old ones I'd forgotten I had and managed to track down rough dates for them. 2006 (This first one was my very first digital painting ever) 2007 2008-2009 2010-2011 2012-2013 2014
Yea, most of the concept guys are really good at just loosely sketching something in to get the overall gesture. But I do see them change stuff drastically on the fly. I don't see how you can do that without erasing. Of course, if your doing it digitally, that makes it super easy to do big changes quickly.
Hi there :) , How flexible are studios generally in letting juniors or
recent graduates try different roles outside the key role they get in with (e.g.
a character artist who also enjoys doing digital painting and is curious about
concept art/promo/illustration work). What would be the best way to approach asking for this…
