I will use these techniques for less detailed LODs, because player will be able to get inside the wreck and touch the chain :) But what do you guys think about triangle count. Is 22k a fair amount for a LOD0 of this asset?
well done! I agree with OrganizedChaos, would really love to see some in-game shots. It looks great here but it might be a tad noisy from above due to the amount of detail you are rockin'. Very creative!
I think at the end of the day 100>* is best guide. What you should be thinking is, how can i do this with the least amount of instructions. Be efficient and as long as it does it's job i can't see much of an issue.
so heres the scene currently inside UE4, still got a fair amount of work to do. (god rays are just placeholder assets, they are from epics effects cave sample scene) crits always welcome :D
Much appreciated <3 -- Working on a good amount of fan art at the moment. Convention season ahoy! favorite league champ besides syndra...Diana is so cool and ive been maining her since she was released.
When you hate it, because you've been working on it too long, and it's not nearly finished. If you are still enjoying working on it, it's not much of a big deal (unless you are being payed to finish things in a certain amount of time).
How big is the freelance side of things there? I would have assumed those bigger mobile typed studios would have done most of their stuff in house. There's not usually a large amount of art in those sorts of games.
Yea definitely. It's crazy to think that the GTX 780 was $650 @ Launch back in May 2013. Now, you're able to get roughly the same amount of power with more efficiency and another GB of video ram for $350. 0_0
If you make those changes to this piece, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a job in the industry fairly easily :) Remember that it isn't the amount of content that you have, just the overall quality of everything that you show.
Modo is my favorite, Blender is more than fine for its price but requires an open mind and unless you actually give me a substantial amount of money, I won't subject myself to Maya ever again.
