Thanks Eric. I was aware that the the functionality between IBL and HDR plus skylight were similar, but I'm just a curious individual and always want to learn more. Thanks for the links coldside. They will be going in the bookmarks for further exploration.
Try not to work at too high of a subdivision level when blocking out your proportions. Doing so will lead to a lumpy, waxy appearance as well as cause some tools to not function as optimally as they should (move, smooth, etc).
I actually want to know the answer to this too. I think that deleting as many faces as you can without compromising the quality or functionality of the model is best since it lowers the models polycount, but I could be wrong about this.
Check out this video to get some ideas about practical space suits. It's totally feasible to have a form-fitting suit by adding some reinforcement around contours to enhance functionality, while accentuating her anatomy.
Very cool stairs. I'm learning too and besides what DWalker comments, your model looks very functional(I'm not sure if that word exists in English, it should mean something along the lines of "viable" "usable").
[ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTOxmqvhefE"]Key of Ethios - Van's Chain Grapple - YouTube[/ame] Progress on one of the functions of Van's Chain Grapple skill. Plenty of stuff left to do with it, but it works pretty well.
You definitely will want to get used to the quick menus. Try holding modifier keys (shift, ctrl, ctrl+shift) and hold different mouse buttons. Almost all quick menu functions are in these menus. Good luck... :)
Yeah my design skills are lacking heh -- was surprised I could come up with a decent icon. I'd love to improve the UI but I wanted to really focus on functionality to see if this app has any potential :)
Lookin nice. With that bug ole shoulder pad he wouldn't be able to raise his arm too high without touching his head though. If you're not concerned with that don't worry about it. Just a functionality thing.
this has the same functionality but not in 3d, I guess this is what most of you remember using: http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/#shaded edit: ah it seems this link is also visible in the bottom left corner of the 3d app
