Very nice, having him transform as he gains power from Feast was a good move. edit - The extra armor and spikes aren't bad either, they do give him a wider and bulkier appearance. It's pretty cool seeing his chitin plates unfold and split as his body grows beneath them though.
So.. I followed this to the letter.. Yet I cannot get this to work.. I only get the bones, and the importer just wont let me check off import mesh. For modelling purposes, having the model as base does make it a whole lot easier to model armor extras... Anyone have a clue here?
hated FF 12 with passion. what now.. i can have an supposedly agile thief that can constantly spam curaga.. while wearing heavy armor?? quickening uses mana? oh wow! played trough 3-12 + tactics, tactics advance, chronicle and several lesser titles. best candidate : FFV :)
Okay ! So after a few tries I updated the concept to get her a leather piece of armor :3 In the end I like her better than before, so it was a good thing to change it X) Thank you again ! It should also be easier to tweak readability later on as it has less detail in general.
Cool stuff man. I dig the variation on the character's helm and would look to push more silhouette change on the rest of the armor. Good read on some of those thumb nails too. They all have very similar horizon lines so maybe the next page you play around with camera angle a bit.
Wow, the rendering on this piece is awesome! Got a very nice hand painted feel to it. Have you tried adding some subtle texture to the metal through special brushes? Cause I really think just a little bit of texture to the armor would really make the image pop. And some discordance in the shadows too.
Some updates, I have figured out what I want the elf armor to look like. Slowly getting more details on the rest, really trying to get comfortable with asymmetry in the faces of the Orc and the Undead. @erroldynamic thanks for the tip on Nanomesh! I think the results for the chain-mail came out much better.
Looks cool but whats the idea behind this set? I cant really see the link between weaver and bone armor. Perhaps if you twist it more into weaver's actual lore then the colour scheme will fall into place a lot more naturally. White looks good but could be made to stand out if it was just highlights as well.
Aha YUS! <3 the b1ll characters! As has been mentioned, there are some wierd conceptual decisions (Mature face, big hands, practicality of armor, etc.) but the execution is near flawless. I hope you find time to paint the rest of these guys. P.S. Thanks for sharing the face painting steps. MERCI BEAUCOUP!11
here is more of a patched update. i made the head bigger and blimped it more. but i'm thinking of taking down some of the bloat and stuff, and take out one of the tubes in the back, it's placed poorly. i'm also choosing if i want them ribbed, or armored or what. we'll see this might take a sec to load:
