Hey Polycounters, I'm mostly a lurker here, but from now on i'm going to post my 2D stuff in a sketchbook here. My portfolio website is over here . Im a business student, but digital art has been my hobby for a while now. This sketchbook aims to improve my 2D skill, which never got past the level of painting crappy…
http://www.seikowatches.com/baselworld/2007/press/details/070412_11.html I hadn't even thought about that idea of a watch/wrist band that is a digital display. Think about all the cool shit your cell phone can do only as a watch/wrist band. I know that bad boy cant do all that or even any of that, but if you replace e ink…
Hey everyone, my name is Tanya and I'm an aspiring concept artist originally from Russia. I've been drawing traditionally since childhood and really enjoy it. Now I'm getting into digital drawing and am trying to pursue a concept art career. There's so much amazing artwork on this site, it's pretty overwhelming. Hope to…
Little something I did for a studio application awhile back Base concept / mockup was done with Lego Digital Design with editorial edits in Mecabricks online. All remodeling / hard surfacing was done using maya , as with as a pre built lego shader I had made for another project , scene contains a single HDRI with a front…
Hey everyone, I'm excited to keep a digital sketchbook here on Polycount. Constructive criticism is always welcome! I'm really passionate about creating cool creatures and characters, and telling stories. Here are some Keyshot renders of a high poly I'm just wrapping up. The character is based off of a Tengu, a humanoid…
Just try both ways. Then you'll know. both these guys are professionals, so if you learn each ones methods you'll be better off. the best hting about digital art is you can try almost anything non-destructively. No other medium you can do that in. So take advantage of that fact.
There are some videos by Greg Brown for the Modo steam edition that I would consider a good crash course into using modo... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=202604023 Digital Tutors also has a some good stuff for getting into it right away. http://www.digitaltutors.com/11/training.php?tid=7&cid=87
This and Origin (thanks for blocking my credit cards, Digital River) and their "creative" DRM measures. Or all DLC costs 4 bioware points but you can only buy the points in 5-packs (haha. very funny). The non game dev folks are pretty good at EA for spoiling otherwise great products for me :/
Unless they changed something, its the same thing as the yiynova. Same UC-logic digitizer, same issues, same source.... just rebranded under another name. I dont think its good competition for Wacom, the quality difference is just too vast. I would continue to stick with Wacom for the time being.
So I don't think this is the best time to be learning Softimage... Autodesk is killing it and is going to stop support soon. With that said Digital Tutors has a bunch of tutorials for Softimage that might be worth looking into. If you want a replacement program to look into Modo and Blender both have texturing features…
