I think the proportions look pretty good but the folds could use work. Especially the pants. Even if you are going for stylized folds, look at real folds to see how they hang and flow.
planks are going for a handpainted or stylized style and the rest of the scene has a realistic style (the aquarium, the rug noise, the books) You should stick to a style from the begining to avoid a messy final picture.
@elementrix - I guess I should say stylized hand painted textures. I think I'll do that from a distance to check it, it does seem close, thanks. @Boozebeard - Thanks man :)
The blockout looks cool, subbed! The head is certainly a lot smaller in the concept. but you could scale it down like 15% to have some stylization but not begin to look so disproportionate if that's not your goal.
Here's my first attempt at a human body. Spent a few hours doing this stylized lady. I started without reference, then later got some reference and here's the result so far.
Cheer Tobbo for the feedback. I've started from scratch and have been working on three individual wooden planks for the barrel. I'm trying to go for a Stylized approach, any feedback is very welcome.
This stuff looks amazing, like oldschool Zelda. About the tree, it doesn't really fit the art style that everything else has. Maybe have larger more stylized leaves and cell shaded?
Holy hell. You nailed the stylized/normal mapped wombo combo. Something I have been viciously trying to tackle for the last few weeks. Can't wait to see process shots!
Just amazing! haha the girl with the blue background is corinna, even stylized i still recognize some ;) when its about female references you cannot hide from me :D
big improvements. he was looking creepy earlier, but is looking much closer to a kid now. With the helmet, I think he's fine. Without it, the anatomy is a bit stylized and strange. Overall, thumbs up.
