Great work! KF2 uses a heavily modified version of UE3 with some bits and pieces from UE4.

AFAIK you can't have unique modifiers, so you'll have to save each material individually.

Go into the Transform palette and change to your desired axis under modifiers. Is that what you were looking for?

No way to remap F1. Unless you use a program that modifies your keyboard keys per application.

There is an option called 'Always Deform' in the Advanced Parameters of the Skin Modifier...uncheck it and the mesh will not be affected by changes of the skeleton...

Just turn it on in Modify Panel it is built-in. First rollout in editable poly, I'm not sure if in mesh as well.
