yeah if you scale down the scene objects then in blender vr addon, it works fine ie you are a giant in a tiny house, but in 360 images the only way seems to be to zoom out, but in a small room, you can only zoom out so far there seems to be more freedom in vr with realtime not pre rendered
watch your edge widths, in several spots they are getting too thin for baking. try zooming out to see when they alias. you should be able to zoom out quite a ways with the edges still staying smooth. otherwise, the model's shapes are all looking nice and accurate. keep going! posting this chart again:
[ QUOTE ] The railgun should lower the sensitivity when zoomed, otherwise it's useless because the crosshair is moving around way too fast and all the zoom does is disorient you. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you. It's hard to use the way it is. That was something I thought people might suggest, once they started using alt-fires.
I don't think any part of modeling is necessarily fun, or boring. Im pretty much neutral, but I do it for that moment when I zoom out and go "this looks really good", zoom back in, repeat. Well I take that back. I think doing small simple details is fun because it adds so much to your work.
@Mant1k0re Nothing hateful about it at all. Zooming is the same combo as Maya(ctrl instead of alt) when using the Right mouse button nav style. CTRL+R = zoom R = orbit ALT+R = pan. Simple. Plus, all of these can be initiated anywhere on the canvas without having to find a blank part off the tool, or the canvas buffer…
Many thanks! Again, I am amazed at how backwards Maya can be on the most common things. I'm still of the mindset that software should just be useful without a ton of scripts! Another question today: 5). When I zoom out in an orthogonal view, the camera 'jumps' back, , quite a bigger step than when zooming in... what's up…
the tutorials for the belnder program show alot more easy of modeling. but for some reason i cant get into a zoom like inthe tutorials, all the tutorials dont tel lyou how. for example milkshape you could zoom in...but with the new blender your like 100 feet away, anyone know how to get close up? [ QUOTE ] I've got one for max... - A change to the track bar so it zooms and works like After Effects, or flash. The 6 clicks it takes to change the active time segment in Max is horrible, being able to pan and zoom the track bar wo [/ QUOTE ] just right click on top of the play button so you can open the frame…
Lense quality is also an important factor in the overall IQ. Cheap zoom lenses usually perform badly at larger apertures, so definately try stopping down to f/8. Prime lenses are amazingly sharp, especially the cheapo nikkor 50mm f/1.8. Here's a snapshot taken with the lense stopped down to f/2.2, no pp done at all. 100%…
Just wanted to say that I use a tablet for max and the CTRL + ALT + Middle Click Zoom seemed to be screwed up now in 2013. It doesn't zoom as far as before and in some cases is doesn't go hardly anywhere. Just in the Nitrous viewport though. Kinda frustrating. Looks like I wont be using Nitrous once again.
