I do know that if you don't have a phone connected to your google account they will ask when you created your google account, month and year. Sadly enough the people I've helped have never actually remembered that so I've got no clue what happens if you know it.
So my account wouldn't log in with the new forums so I tried resetting password but no email came so I made this new account to ask about it but then saw that the email system is down. Now I can't log out of polycount since theres no logout link visible. Normally theres a logout word thats a logout link on websites.
Even then its not really necessary, I mean it might look better in the viewport without textures applied but the baker will account for it. The baker has to account for uv seams like that anyway(where uv direction changes and thus normal color) so having the edge soft or hard shouldn't make any practical difference.
Like Slum said if you have a steam account (free) I have a copy of HL2 you can have, I just need to know the steam account it should go to. You can then extract the models and decompile them, there are some handy maxscripts (included in 2010) that detriangulate models really well too.
I don't think i fully understand. The vert count in the image is "... in Unreal Editor" which is the grand total after UV edge splits are accounted for - UE3 Vert display always takes the UV splits into account (as opposed to Max display). I don't know how the normal map changes the number of verts.??
I just checked and it doesn't appear that UE4 takes into account the roughness for the diffuse. I'm pretty sure it remains lambertian regardless of the value. Oren-Nayar takes it into account more complex changes in the diffuse based on roughness (including masking, shadowing, and interreflections) but I don't believe…
You should be able to now. All new members have limited accounts until they've been approved by the moderation team. In order to be approved, you must make your first post on Polycount to be verified. Once done, and our team has approved it, your account is fully open and you're good to go.
For anyone who has applied recently for our weapons or character animator positions available, our jobs@8monkeylabs.com email account was out of commission and we did not receive your replies. That email account is now up and running again so feel free to resubmit your portfolios. Thank you to all that are interested!
I have a strange error. Marmoset asks for my E-Mail, I enter it, get the E-Mail and when I try to activate my account it just says: ERROR: Account could not be created. Never had an issue with the program at all, its really strange... EDIT: Fixed. You guys have an awesome support! :)
