I was finally able to make my site load properly, I've had some problems in the past with the site randomly not loading some parts. Feels nice solving awful site problems! :)
hey dude, It really depends what the mesh is going to be used for really - it can ask for very different UVs. What about uploading a small part of the mesh? we could 'solve' the case!

yeah, i'd prefer not to sculpt them, as nice as it can be at times. it can be such a complex physical problem to solve by hand if you really wanted to get serious about it. too many variables to process.

Sonic, yours is doing the same as Pauls and just displaying the word "polycount" and linking to the main page of the forums. Tried changing $path = getcwd() . to the folder its in (/headers, not /banners) and that didn't solve it either.
Update: I read the article and it seems that the seam is the intended functionality. I went back and disabled my work thus far on the model texture and the shading is fine without the layers above it. So something about how I've textured on top of it is making the seam visible.…
When trying to solve baking issues, I bake only the normal map at first, with dilation set to zero - that way you can see immediately if you have ray distance issues.
