basing the human form from other 3d model renders is often a bad move, because you are copying someone elses interpretation of the human form, not the human form it's self. However, everything turned out fine, so I'm eating my words Will she own some clothing? I'd like to offer a crit on the breasts. In the Korean model…
hey man, looks pretty cool but i think you need to revisit some shapes in the head before you do more detailing. I don´t know what your reference for her face is but I´m assuming that a few things here are a little bit off. Her forehead has a pretty strange sudden curve to it. She doesn´t really have a chin. the skin below…
Hi Wurrzappa, welcome to polycount! The first thing that comes to me is the silhouette of the body. With the head coming straight out of the body at 90 degrees the silhouette from the front and back looks headless. giving a bit of an angle (95-105 degrees) would be great. Next would be the ears, they seem a bit high. In…
in reality eye whites are not very close to white, they tend to be on the pink side. In addition as people age the eye whites tend to get darker. Notice how dark and pink the eye whites are. I would also blur the iris detail, it will look much better. Seems to me that the ears in particular could use at least 10 more…
Hey Texelion It's great to see the progress you've made on your new project and with the suggestion f making it a tad wider will really make the difference. Its sad that you will be mirroring on side on the texture so you cannot add additional scratches, etc. But thats the price of getting a decent resolution on a 512…
Popolo Hey! Nice seeing you around, and thanks. I'll try my best! Slooowly, slowly getting somewhere. Spent most of my day eagerly following Emil Mujanovic's lecture at school. Yet again, thank you! And real nice to see you following my thread. I spent some time in the evening making some minor changes after receiving…
pretty much what everyone else has said, though I think his hoody should sag down like in the concept- you might get that effect if the material for the coat was quite stiff or padded but looking at the way the material is hanging off the figure, it's not the case. Also some assymetry would really help make him more…
Alright so I think we've reached a final product, I just need to correct that one shader. Overall I learned a lot, especially how Blender deals with recalculating normals, the swap from 3ds max to blender was not a graceful one. Some takeaways * Macronormals are a super cool concept that I picked up from Halo, and then…
This totally depends on the company. And these might not be entry level jobs. Prop artists usually are entry though, because props are simple, isolated tasks that are easily digestible for new artists. They may get tasks from the environment or character pipeline as the backlog/workload requires. Environment artists are…
