I am in absolute awe of the artistry and eye for detail. This work is beautiful, and I am insanely jealous! One selfish question though, which can be answered via PM if you like: What are the chances of getting a version of the Zero model for armor crafting schematics purposes?
As for the back i haven't entirely worked out what I'm going to do for it yet so for the time being it is left with nothing attached. here is a max shot of part of the armor (1 wires 1 turbosmooothed): And here is a render I've done just because i was bored:
this made me think back - In that time I produced 9 player armors (boy & girl versions), 2 pets and a mount. All this working mostly 8 hours a day 5 days a week, significantly less than every waking hour like the OP claims.
You can still do cool, creative stuff with boring real life technology! Like, the year is 2015, and astronauts in hastily modified, armored spacesuits are fighting with modified 70s caseless assault rifles on the moon. You could probably mix dinosaurs in there too. Dinosaurs are real.
Got all her armor into ZBrush and it's all creased just the way I want it. Now for the details. LRoy:It certainly has been easier to handle them in ZBrush. I've tweaked the legs a bit (made them a hair shorter and thiner). How do they look now?
interesting work. I don't think blizz makes their armor that cartoon-esque, but its definitely their design style and work process; they probably make the stuff in that amount of time too. Very interesting. I've only begun to experiment with specularity myself so seeing this is very helpful :)
I might have a go, I was thinking of making my character from Diablo 1; it's my chance to make a woman without boob armor or battle-heels. I might up my specs since there's no limit, 1024 diffuse and 2k triangles sounds good :)
actually I kinda like that, I wasnt a big fan of a guy running around in the whole we use swords and no power armor time period myself. But after watching the way they incorporated the whole thing, I think I might pick up this game now
OK, I think I fixed the knee issue more or less. I might adjust the proportions a bit more, but we'll see. Ignore the fact that his head armor piece is white. This is the normal map witha temp specularity map as well. Comments and crit are appreciated!
Hehe, I think it's excellent! You've captured the Warhammer look very well. My main critique is that you could get more colour into the armour designs or maybe onto the body - Orcs like bright red tattoos and painted designs on their armour, also the black and white "checkerboard" pattern is often used on Orc armour and it…
