In some Buildings the light is really really nice and the model looks almost like in the max viewport.. but when its day and you're outside it kills a lot of the details with overbright desaturated… -

Ok, so with the bricks on the walls I am guessing are a texture atm? Best way to approach them would be to sculpt a few bricks in Zbrush. Lets say 3 or 4 bricks and make each side different so you pretty much tipple the usage out of them. Then you can use the 2.5D mode in Zbrush to create a tiled texture. Bake out you… -

Had a go at optimisation with the suggestions in mind, now at 5160 tris. Finally got a base texture on, with my envisaged design. I know there are plenty of seams showing and parts that need touching up but it's only in base format and I wanted to show the kind of thing I'm going for. Need to think about what I'm gonna do… -

They use 96 because its 3/4 of 128, 6 foot is just a rounded off estimate, 96 should be about the average height of a person, and you can base the scale of everything else off that. Also most games try to texture 128x128 unit areas with a 512x512 textures. So a one story wall is close to 128 units tall. -

hi guys just a question ! is dDo compatible with cs5 ? i am using cs5, i installed the dDo yesterday, it works on cs5 but its really slow, it takes a year to load one of those presets, on 512 x 512 texture its fine but on higher resolution it just too slow or just jumps out! another issue that i found is that it makes… -

Thanks for the crit. Yeah I'd agree with the normal map info. The reason I did so many (2048 map with 12 in each direction that gave me 3 tiles per meter at 512 pixels per meter) is so that when tiled it would not be as noticeable and I could get more variation. Well here it is ladies and gentlemen, clocking in at 20,200 tri's with 2k's on the body and 1k's on the hair (512 on the eyes and 1k on the chains). Pretty satisfied with the result, wish my lighting hit the color of the original more, and I think i may have changed the face too much, probably wouldn't pass for a AAA… -

It depends on what type of bricks/pavers you use. If you use square bricks you get a big gap at the outer ring and they touch at the inner part.
