I would go with colder versions of those colors if I was going to shift his color scheme towards those colors. I would also suggest not using too much gold on him, but rather to use them sparingly as powerful accents where they'll have the most impact without being distracting. the thing you need the most is not a new mouse. you need a break and let it heal. i know it sucks... but if you don't want to be in casts on both arms for months to come (like i did) you need to get a break from work and start with some physio to strengthen your arm/wrist/tendons/joints.
