This thread also comes a little bit earlier than expected. I was originally going to hold off longer, but it came to my attention I didn't want people looking at my PS1 art and thinking that's all I could do. So the new art is coming, be patient with me! :o
Thanks! @LRoy: I didn't want to limit myself. I'll just make an awesome presentation character and see how the ingame view works out. @slosh: Sure, but not super low. I'll aim for the polycount I used for ps3/360 characters in crysis 3. Something around 10k tris.
That's because your mesh doesn't match the naming convention expected of a mesh in 3DO for texture display. Each mesh group (separate objects within one FBX/OBJ with different names) must correspond to the DDO or NDO PSDs loaded in Photoshop, otherwise 3DO cannot assign textures to them automatically.
@Ivars Thanks a lot I got it to work. I was just parenting and not constraining. I imported it into UDK using fbx and it wasnt working at first so I also had it exported using axmain and once I sampled the animation from the .psa file it worked just fine. Thanks again!
There are tools for both the XBOX(PIX) and the PS3(GPAD) that do this. At least as far as gpu profiling goes. I don't know if you can get access to them without being a registered developer. I'm not sure about PC because I don't have to worry about PC performance as much.
I'm having an issue where the preview mesh is hardly displaced. Is there a setting of some kind that I'm missing? Other than that, brilliant tool! So this is what that secret texture tool from the hangouts was. :D May I suggest adding an export option for a compiled PSD file with the textures in a separate layer?
I've spilled coffee on an AT PSU once some years back. Fortunately it wasn't running, and one week later it appeared to be just fine. Luck, probably. There's that time I fixed a 4X CD-ROM drive by physical means (DROPPING)... not nearly as impressive as exploiting heat, but in the 90s it was still pretty unorthodox.
Hey all, I spoke with Chris via GChat, and he is ready to do a google hangout and mess around with some texturing. I am planning on starting the hangout at 11 A.M. PST Anyone is welcome to join. I Will go over a few techniques from basic, to more advanced stuff. :)
I like CC better. There are quite a few layer management features/tablet bugs squashed that I like. Performance with 3D texture painting is way better along with general large PSD file handling. If you can get your work done with what you have, keep it. If not, upgrade.
Sorry for the bump! :) So now that this is on Steam/PSN how many of you have picked it up? I just finished it and found it to be fantastic from beginning to end! The puzzles were great and I particularly liked how they did the audio in the game. Here's the website for those who haven't heard of this: LIMBO
