Alright, well looking at your scope, I decided to quickly create some geometry to try to show off what we mean by the tight edges: And the wireframe: In all honesty, it takes some playing around sometimes to get what you're looking for. But making those edges a little bit less tight will help your bake so much. -

I'd definitely ask for your money back if you are just doing free tutorials from 3dtotal. If you'd like to 'finish' one up finish the full joan of arc tutorial then. BTW, what school is this?? You can always ask questions here or even in irc. They helped me get up to speed with 3dsmax pretty quickly -

this started out as a drawing of a person but I quickly realized everything but the arms sucked, so I drew more. guy pointing to the distance, but the arm foreshortening makes it look like he has a baby arm, lolol IMAGES ARE BIG WITH LOTS OF WHITE SPACE, BUT THIS IS MY SKETCHBOOK. was zapping channels late night and stumbled upon his series, they show it on public german tv as well. Have seen a couple series now, mostly shortly before I'd go to sleep. It's interesting to see how he can come up with stuff so quickly and "seemingly simply" yet it always works out well at the end. -

In zbrush I did something that looked a bit similar once to try and make rocks, by just using the fastmallet brush, and quickly alt-clicking in different areas, gives this kind of result: http://born-robotic.net/stuff/zbmallet.jpg Could probably do something better by configuring the brush a bit, I just left the default… -

Texturing is looking awesome, I would really like to see some of your flats when your done with it all if your willing to share :) For lighting you could try the MR sun and sky system. You could get some good lighting down pretty quickly for this scene using it... that is if you are using mental ray lol. -

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but seems like it does the same basic idea as Topogun, for just $116 US. PolyDraw An array of tools for quickly editing meshes or scetching out a mesh , either on the main grid, projected onto the surface of another object or on the selected object itself. Hey good onya Frosty, trust me you're not cheap by any means giving $20. I volunteer at the Oxfam office here and the most I've taken were a few $1,000 donations, someone else took a $10,000 donation, but the average is $20-$50. So many people donate that amount that it adds up really, really quickly. -

To a point. Its more like some programs assume to install on the main OS drive. That don't give you a choice to install elsewhere. I have different partitions for my work programs and game programs to lower fragmentation so no worries about windows reinstall so quickly. I rather have ssd and quiet performance than a…
