I built all these rock meshes, is there a way to ...paint the rocks onto my terrain quickly instead of S clicking everywhere i want a rock to go? In modo there is this option, its just Mesh paint. in udk mesh paint afk is to paing colors? anyone know if something like this exists? much appreciated as always. -

Arf, I will be as soon as I get back to Scotland. I don't have CoD down here with me at the moment, on my laptop. However if we get a good server, I will bring in my flatmates and we'll have a team game - MoP's house take on all comers! -

Kinda like MaterialReplacer, but not really. http://plugins.angstraum.at/ One way that might work is to use BFF to convert the scene to a script file, then replace all the RGB Tints with a global replacer (I like ReplaceEm ), then load the script back in. Although a script jock will probably come along with a better way... -

On this one mesh alone, then we'll need to have multiple artists be able to do the same thing over and over again for multiple skins and multiple ships. Faffing around with 3DO and only being able to see one map at a time is really not a good method unfortunately. It would be fine if I was doing a portfolio or student… -

@Pixelatedkiwi Ah right! Yeah I tend to use a square brush, even one with wet edges on, which I use to do color variations and stuff, adds a bit of sharpness to the edges (I noticed that in faf's textures). @AntonioNeves Yeah man totally, wanna see another project of yours! -

Great stuff! I noticed that alot of the fine details of your buzzard high poly didn't transfer over to the low poly. Was this a intentional choice or a resolution issue? I am assuming part of the rendering and style of BL flattens those details out a bit. Oh and eff the buzzards! Hate those bastards. -

Huh, that sounds possible. I can't say for sure if that's what it is, but it'd make sense that some operations are scripts internal to max, and it's just not smart enough to disable any of that, etc. Thanks. Won't fix it for unscripted things, but at least now I have an idea why it's trying to eff up my day. >_<
