coldwolf: 'infamous' because that video is from 1998. A lot of people in the 'hobby' community weren't doing work like that at the time, so when the vid came out it was pretty inspiring. At least, thats what I've picked up.
I sympathise, because recently I have been struggling to find motivation too and I have never had a problem with that before. I have been doing art stuff since 1988 and its only in the last year or so where I just can't be arsed even to turn on the computer sometimes.
Zwebbie - you really should have included the original 1998 version from Unreal, just to show the biggest jump. :D (Unreal) http://liandri.beyondunreal.com/w/images/Deck16In-EditorScreenshot.png (Unreal Tournament) http://liandri.beyondunreal.com/w/images/Deck16II-Screenshot.jpg (UT2k4)…
Quicktime is pretty standard, it's not the 1998 anymore. LOL It's been over a decade, all macs should have it and I suspect all PCs at game studios do to. If you want something more standard try mpeg, but the scrubbing thing is pretty cool. Nice work the reel vimeo version felt short. :D .
3ds max appears to be lying to me when it comes to the scaling of my UVW's, you can see what I mean by looking at the screenshot below. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1988/errorscaling.jpg Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
"The site went live on April First, 1998 back on the old Gamespy site; Planetquake. We started out as a single tutorial on how to make a basic Quake2 player model" I remember this crazy time! If you needed coolest q2 or q3 models you should go to POLYCOUNT! Happy 15th Birthday, Polycount!
Cue the music from the 1968 movie Planet Of the Apes, and let it roll until we are all over thrown by our humanzee slaves. I think we all need to go back and play alittle Fry Cry for two reason; 1) Remind ourselves how dangerous this type of science can be. 2) Practice and training.

I seem to remember years ago, people would post exerpts of some kind of icq type chat program and the arguments they had. I remeber EQ was alswasy arguing with someone, maybe I misimagined that. maybe around 1998-2000
