Not a bad idea Lore, I remember being show that sort of work around on the PS2. Hey Cheese, how do I implement that? Do I just add some planes and put alpha textures on them in the corners? It does need edgwork, everything is o clean right now.
oh yeah of course, I just saw a few areas where you used it, that's all anyways, amazing job whatever the method Edit : would you mind giving us a small explain about your painting methods? maybe the psd construction or something It could be interesting ! thx !
i don't do many, but these days i just stick them through automate>photomerge in ps cs4 and then clean up a bit by hand. Does a fine job for what i've needed recently. Just a bit annoying that it clears pixels from the layers rather than masking them
Unless you're excluding engines without any games available I'd say Unreal Engine 3.0. Perhaps there are better ones but none have been announced so far. UE3 isn't just an engine, it's a complete toolkit. Also, it's available for the Xenon and they're promising PS3 and Revolution support.
I tried grabbing the halo3 beta last night around 2 A.M. (PST) and it still wasn't available. I *think* the preorders are the only ones that have the beta as an option, so if you can find a store that doesn't have them all spoken for you should be able to get in on it.
Milkshape had is pros and cons. The pros it can import and export various models for various game engines. Also its good to work on if youre creating models for the DS or PSP. The cons are its one of clunkiest and buggiest program ive ever worked on. They really should tune up that interface.
Ive never played a DMC game until I tried the demo on my friends ps3, wow I like it, its absolutely rediculous and looks great. There just seems to be so much great texturing to every environment! Not sure how repetitive or annoying the full game might be though.
noritsune - Certainly older generations don't get it. My gran asked me what I got for Xmas, and I told her that I'd gotten some comics (Cerebus) and some games (Killzone PSP). She couldn't understand either, since I'm 30 and comics and games are for children.
seems like a cool idea, but the problem for me is the ergonomics of the controller... looks like one of those generic brand ps1 controllers that were like 2 blocks with a stick inbetween. if you could improve the design a bit, i'd say you could have a hit with the fps enthusiast market.
