Ooh, I hate this problem too. I never tried saving as .ma and hunting through the file manually,might be a fabled 'dirty' node. Rebooting the pc doesn't solve the problem. Right now it looks like you applied a few mud splatters but they don't really conform to where mud might appear on someone who lives/hunts in the woods. Well, there's so much stuff you'd have to set up before it could pack decently. You'd be going over the mesh designating desired, allowed, and prohibited seam edges. You'd have to tell it areas you want to mirror or stack versus unique texels. You'd have to somehow tell it which areas get higher texel resolution priority… -

I started out as freelance and had the good fortune of being taken under the wing of a great mentor. She showed me the ropes and critted me mercilessly. It was tough, and frustrating but in the end made me faster and better than I could have ever been flying solo. Now im working studio side b/c i got tired of chasing money…
