I Think I definitely need practice and I will continue to work at improving, and yes the folds would give it more believable look as well sorting the anatomy, im gonna give it a go and improve the model thanks a lot for the comments, big help.
Oh for sure, there is probably still a lot of room to further improve the workflows there and improve how intuitive that process is. I think this is something that the Quixel guys will continue to evolve. You should drop some feedback for them in the Quixel subforum if you haven't already.
Quick blocking in for the Orc character, but I have a question before I continue: What do I want my polycount to look like for a PC game in Unity? I've looked up TF2 and it seems that under 10k is a good restriction, is that the case?
OMG. Loving this. Your painting skills are awesome and fit the level very well. I can't wait to see some 3D stuff! Please continue to record some of your process (screenshots/WIP shots) since I really enjoy watching it! :)
Thanks for the feedback everyone. :) Before continuing, thought I'd upload a quick screenshot of what I have so far to see if it's going in a good direction: And yes Harry, I modeled a plain MP5 first, which was a big mistake on my part.
okay now I'm caught up and ready to continue posting daily. I've got 15 posts queued up on tumblr and they'll be posted automatically once a day. remember that there's a downloads page on my blog with links to .zip archives of each month :)

Maybe I'm wrong, but it might be because on your 2nd UV lightmap, that little center piece isn't unwrapped continuously with the rest of the mesh. forget about that I just remembered that that little piece was a separate mesh. ( silly me) Could it be because of the specular?
Adjusted her proportions today. She's now about 7 head tall. (would have been less, but it seems I made her chin smaller as well...). She's also slimmer too. Will continued adjusting her face and her hair.
Good info, CrazyButcher. If my budget wasn't so tight I'd go with the 460gtx for sure. Looking hard at that gts now. If I pick it up in the next week it's only 75 bucks after rebate. Feeling impulsive... Must continue to sleep on it.
