I think belt buckles and the like will have very little to do with how much you enjoy this game. My only hope is that it's not any more 'serious' as a result of going next gen (if that's even a relevant concept these days). i would add more shadows to your difuses on the lowpolys , because right now they are really good , but they seem to be itended for next gen assets , without an ambient oclusion pass. just add more shadow to make the shapes get more readibility . The normal mapped asset lack a good texture too , make an ambient oclusion… -

I think shep nailed the colour with his edit, already screams sonic a lot more to me. It is a bit creepy to look at lol, especially the hands but I think if you fixed up the fur it would look much better. As you said yourself, Shadow of the Colossus is definitely a game to look at even though its last gen they did fur… -

I'm a HUGE fan of Castlevania, and I was really looking forward to this. Played it at e3, it feels good, but it also feels exactly like GoW. I'm hoping it differentiates itself... at the very least give me a big open world castle to explore and all the other trademark castlevania things. I'd still much rather see a full HD… -

Yeah and do your UVs using checkers to avoid wrong texel ratio like on your current model. You can see the texels are quite streched on the tank metal. Also, avoid dark places in your diffuse, even if it's not for the 'next'-gen machines. A black area in your diffuse is a place that even vertex color wont be able to… -

Uncharted is one of the best games this gen, easily, and Ratchet was very good too. I am however very disappointed by the ps3 still :\ and only own MGS4, even after having the system for a year.
