Just wanted to drop by and thank you, guys! I've had to jump through a gazillion of hoops but in the end I got my self Windows 7 64bit and additional 4 gb ram, now sitting at 6gb which is still 3 times more then I'm used to. Thanks so much for your advices, fellas. I appreciate. -

I always thought 6 and a half was average and 7 heads was the beginning of the heroic proportions? O.o You're right about the head. I was talking to a few guys today and they are kinda torn between the meet up and the Awards ceremony. The awards end at 8:30 so I don't know how long you all plan on staying at the thirsty bear. For me, it worked perfectly. Then I exited Maya. Later on I opened Maya again, it asked me to add a button to the shelf (again?), so I clicked no, and it deleted my shelf. Thank goodness I always back up my shelves, but it was weird. By the way, 64bit Maya 2012, on Windows 7 64bit. Not sure if that information helps at all. -

Aye, I still haven't figured out how exactly that "Quick Access" thing is supposed to work internally. It's certainly a step down from "Recent Places". It's telling that I can't run any version of Windows more recent than 7 without installing Open Shell as the very first application (replicates the traditional start menu) -

Yeah I've always liked apple ones. Some of the new windows 7 ones are cool too. So I decided to go dual monitor with my wallpaper. I'm also, probably, moving to NYC in a month so I decided to do something with that. Original image was full color but I liked it more with some with the saturation turned down. -

Thanks for the tips guys! Reduced the polycount on the candles, cloth, and note. Added wicks (7 tris a piece) to the candles. Added some warping to the boards for character.
