For artists, get a degree if you can, especially if its paid for and if it will help you outside of the industry, just in case it ever folds or you get tired of working in it. Studios within the industry go boom and bust fairly regularly and that instability gets old for a lot of people. With that said, getting a degree…
Congratulations!! As I said in my first post on the thread, this is a must have for Unity Devs. We (Knitted Pixels) will be using it for our upcoming games from now on :) Thanks and once again congratulations for your hard work these months, you just made a great difference for the indie developers like us with zero budget…
Try doing a levels layer on top of the texture and ramp up the darks to be lighter say 0, 1.25, 255, but if you can just do that to the none metal areas it would look best. Also the metal areas need one more pass of rust/grime. All the areas where you scratched it that needs to be rusted up. That way it reads as painted…
Assuming its one of these: "Lion's head door knocker" search results I actually got this as a dresser, set all knobs are lions heads, its pretty cool, so i could provide a reference. Looks like you didn't just mirror the geometry mesh? looks like an auto remesher & go situation, could be wrong. @Noren has the rest covered…
Gee whizz, another 911 thread! Im as open minded as the next guy, but honestly people, If you want to believe something you really will. Nothing I watched in either video shows me anything to prove foul play (well, apart fron that conducted by the perpetrators of course!). But the second one? Man thats just annoying.…
Welcome to the Monthly Noob Challenge 8! RULES: Please read all the rules. This may seem like it's pretty complicated, and if you are starting out it can be overwhelming, so take it piece by piece. This can be broken down into a segments. Think about what will be unique, what will be tiled, what kinda textures you'll need…
I'm far enough along that it's time for a polycount thread for this. My roommate and I are starting to work on a small game using the Torque engine. He's covering programming, I'm covering art. We're keeping it small in scope to cater to the small team size. Right now he's busy with work/school, so I'm just getting as far…
I wanted to work on some sub d modeling so been working on this in my spare time. The character is just a stock model and will replace it with my own once I finish the hard surface portion. I was just going to do a bust for this so I should have the model hopefully finished in a week or two. Let me know if you have any…
Hey Thx Dennispls and Carl Brannstrom The game is actually playable atm.:) I expect a playable demo release in about 2 months. A tech/programmer friend of mine just joined to help, so it will not be just me putting this all together.) And he is busting out the combat mechanics. Come the time i would love for you guys to…
You are busting out so much great work. Every time I come back there is something else shiny and new to look at. Do you have an overall plan our are you just developing it as you go? Also an artist at "People can fly?" Just picked up, played and completed Bulletstorm the other day. Very fun and great looking game. Good…
