Alright, I increased the polygon density on the scope bits and now it looks a trillion times better. It is now 6325 tris.

Yeah, but i think we should smooth them when the don't have geometry(polygons) and they are just in the normal map.

that line thing means theres a problem with your UVs. usually its polygons that have 0 UV surface area.

The metal between the grips has odd highlights at semi-regular intervals; I'd guess it's picking up the edges of the polygons.

I don't think so. That would be double UVs on all of the polygons and I don't think most programs support that.

I have changed triangulation of top polygons manually, to see how it looks like... It is distorted in some another way.
