Re: [zBrush] Exported normals' edges don't match
Zbrush has a weird vertical flip on textures quirk. You have to reflip the texture either on export from ZB or in photoshop. Also, if you're using S Painter I highly recommend baking there. It's a much more modern baker and ZB NM bakes are not as good quality as other bakers like xnormal/substance/handplane/knald. -

I understand the lightmapping part...but open meshes add to the vertex count more than closed? I really thought it would be closed meshes that would have more vertices due to vertex-splitting when handling faces/smoothing groups O__o I'll go with the poop falling out...yeah...that sounds just fine. -

This helps me too, but the effect does not last long. I also noticed that the pain almost disappears if I turn hand like this and that's why I started to google about vertical mouses: I plan to visit doctor soon but I wonder if someone had the same wrist problems and could give some advice. -

I'd favor slicing as well. Clip brushes don't modify the topology, they just push vertices around and mash them together. You can read about its behavior (including the alt function and the importance of the crosshair on the rectangle/circle brushes) at… -

My incredibly uninformed guess: They had a team working on a demo pitch, i.e. 'vertical slice' for a new game unrelated to COD, to try and pitch to ATVI. Unfortunately, after consulting Dr. Google, it appears Maya does not have TurboSmooth. It has Mesh Smooth, but I suppose I haven't figured out the nuances of it just yet, as it's always seemed to exist as an "Add Divisions and Average Vertices" sort of vehicle, for me. Maybe when I'm back in the shop I'll play more with it. -

Thanks fr0gg1e . I'm aware about all that. Now i'm playing with subdivision and got that cage problem. I don't know how to use the subdiv0 cage ... perhaps firing a ray from the lowpoly subdiv1 or 2 until it reaches the subdiv0 cage... but then, what? I'm a bit lost. To use a cage with 100k vertices is not very good... -

I think the proportions are wrong on the head , the eyes are too high up as if her skull ends at her hairline ... its definatly a start tho ... and the advise about reference should be taken note of ... The Blue line shows roughly where the skull should be ending ... as you can see the eyeline is more or less in the… -

Here's an image to show what I mean. This solution can't handle completely vertical hills on the curve due to this actually being an animation curve and the fact that you can't have 2 keys on top of each other on the exact same keyframe. T_T If anyone has an other easy solution outside of Maya for then I'm all ears. -

I bought 3 ocz vertexes(or vertices?) and put em in raid0. its wierd having to manage files(only 90gigs for my main drive) but I do feel it was worth the price and trouble to setup. booting, installing & loading programs is *alot* faster, also switching subtools in zbrush is alot lot lot faster as well.
