@Arkhas Much improvement to your grass texture :) @ Animesh Just an observation but your spec color is taking on the color of your diffuse texture, a dielectric material. I could be wrong so double check, if your asset right now is being lit by a neutral light then your secular highlights should be neutral but they are the…
Very nice detail work! The first thing that jumped out at me was that your scene is very brightly lit, even compared to the reference image (maybe tone the bloom down a bit?). Your textures are very clean, try breaking them up with a little wear and tear :) I'm sorry no one was able to answer your question about lighting,…
Hey Mistry, Very well done, the ideas and execution are great modeling and texturing wise.It shows a lot of work got put into this. If you still have time, I would double check is that your main light source fits with the sun's position, something with the shadow makes me think the lighting comes from the right and not the…
wow looking badass already. I wonder if you can remove the line in front the throne, to frame it instead of overlapping in front of it, that would help to enhance it a bit more. I think there is something to do with the light to push the focus on the throne, right now my focus goes under the throne, on that spot framed by…
For the photon mapping you need to enable the "merge nearby photons" to create smooth transitions between them. You would also need more of them to get a better lit scene because of the merging your GI will averaged a bit and you could loose detail in extreme areas. And why are you using "hair planes" and no real hairs?…
I can't tell from your latest pictures, but in the previous there was a problem with the eyes where the upper lid didn't overhang the lower. Check your reference for an idea on what I mean. The jaw area is looking much smoother now but I think her lips should be larger. The neck looks a bit scary at the moment, like she is…
Some friends and I were part of this year's studio layoffs so while we search for new jobs we decided to work on a game together! It's basically a simulator game where you run a book store, similar to TCG and Grocery Store Simulator but we've got some plans to push the genre farther. I've been mostly working on the…
I can second that color and light: a guide for the realist painter, especially for anyone interested in doing lighting in games. while the focus of the book is on traditional 2d images, the concepts/ideas/techniques presented in it can be directly applied when lighting scenes, something which most people starting out or…
you feel better now Marshkin ? I was actually hoping for a little discussion of it also, they released a few cool games of late which I haven't been able to play since my 360 imploded( like Splinter Cell Conviction) if anyone is interested here is the link which i found using Bing:/…
I think the biggest area that needs work is lighting and composition, you've got some solid shots in here but there is a general bad placement of camera angles and lighting. Pictures 1,4,9, and 12 have better compositional arrangements with probably 1 and 4 being the most pleasing IMO. Strong lines leading towards the…
