Thanks for the responses. Its good to get a few opinions. I agree it would suck to have some diva coming in and want to only do hero stuff. Neox: So you freelance as an artist for both film and games? Do you think it doesn't matter if your from film as long as your have character/creature work to show your a candidate for…
I loved the door-opening SFX, true to da source. I hope they bring back the weird stuff as well like blood/acid falls for walls, those huge eyes that open as buttons and of course the tortured faces in the stone What the creatures need in my eyes are the bright, iconic colors. That would distinguish them from the world as…
update! see first post for download link been working mainly on graphics, but there's some gameplay tweaks too. its much quicker to fire a new rocket after you've taken a shot- you can fire it quickly after the explosion, and grabbing the aimer will set the camera to its aim position also I've added in these little…
Oh hey yeah, and if your new to edit poly I am still flogging off Creature Workshop disks at Turbosquid- disk 1 runs through all the basic features of poly modelling- pretty much every button in order, so you can build a monster with no prior knowledge. All money raised for the DVDS is donated to keeping my wife in cool…
Thanks a lot man, actually at the time of writing this I was pondering through the gnomon dvds and I found what you were talking about, the gears of war creature-like dude, I'm probably going to snatch that up very soon. I did watch that Nox thing but I found it kinda confusing but I don't think i was further enough in the…

Dunno what "kind" of crotch anyone would prefer for a naked humanoid-ish…
My cheap hack approach to rigging that up would be to set the eye bones a little farther back down the body of the creature, so they rotate along the surface of the eye with a "flatter" arc. You might even have to move them outside the surface of the mesh a little. Try it this way if you'd rather use basic rotations to…

Where others trained with weapons, he bent himself to meditation in the presence of the mist. He drank deep from the vapors that welled from the Font, learning to blend his spirit with…
Brynn Metheney does some awesome creature illustrations and has a gumroad breaking down muscles, bones, and how she lays down her structure. From the thumbnail it looks like just mammals, but her process looks pretty helpful! And it's not a book exactly, but there are 25 pages of pdf explaining everything.…
