I don't really like demo reels and the compression quality in yours is awful, even worse you rendered it at 4:3 at low resolution in letterbox instead of outputting to HD widescreen..... I think your work in the reel is below average, as far as I can tell all the environments are diffuse textured from photographs off… -

A couple of problems have occurred when rendering now: - The trees are not casting shadows - Some weird shadows are appearing on the bricks of the castle I'm guessing both problems could be occurring from the light maps. Note that a licensee has access to the full engine source so if you don't like e.g. Doom 3's intensity handling you're free to change it. Perhaps you could even implement a form of lightmaps (of course with the light vector so the normalmapping works). Also, you can add scripting systems if you want but these days most… -

Sorry can't help you with a shader, just wondering why your using a texture based mask rather than a vertex color based mask? It seems like if this was a level we're talking about then you'd end up with another giant texture perhaps the same size as a fully unique lightmap. A question to those in the know: what would be… -

I have been working on getting assets into udk and did my first test with emmissive lighting, I think they need a tweak in both colour and bloom so I can get the correct glow and green coming off them. A lot of time has been spent setting up lightmaps for use in unreal and a few more assets are ready for texturing.…
