i like ctrl 1 for isolation. i think shift 1 also does something similar but i always use ctrl 1. you can also setup layers and turn those you arent working on to reference, but that's a little slower.
Today, during lunch at the the studio, I was talking with a former classmate about our current satisfaction working in the CG/game industry. As most artist, what geared us first toward our jobs (he's a character artist and I'm an animator) were our great interest in various form of visual arts. And like a lot of artists,…
Im thinking is mostly a PR term at best. Like you see this a lot in job advertisments. Maybe more relevant to the next generation of consoles that arent out yet so for assets, likely reach a level expected by a company, provided they are clear about thier requirements?
yah dude i try to avoid hipsters completely. the coffee shops *i* go to are so indie you probably never heard of them. but in all srsness if you feel like you "cant get inspired" then you just arent looking at things deeply
His arms arent doing anything.......at all, you should focus on getting those arms to move around quite a bit more, everything else looks pretty decent but the arms just throw the whole thing off and make it look robotic, Keep going :)
i think your interpretation is a bit off. you arent compensating for the multiple layers of clothing she is wearing and her armor. while your intentions are good ide highly recommend putting in a bit more thought in your paint over. no offense of course. :D
The hard surface tutorials arent to be seen as locked to programs , the techniques you do in max you just need to reproduce Did you read the polycount wiki ? Or the technical talk thread sticky about hard surface ? Lots of pearls of wisdom there ! Good luck man !
that's true. But some talks at GDC and what not will go so far into details, and in some cases, even show code clips and stuff. or rigging solutions that make things more realistic. It's just strange why some things are kept secret, while others arent. *shrug*
I really don't see how hacking these companies can be interpreted as an act of a samaritan. I get that people are pissed that they removed Linux compatibility on the PS3 but if these people think they are doing the community a favor it surprises me they arent using their intellect for something not so obnoxiously stupid.
im not sure why you chose Zbrush as your tool for an object like this. you even say that dents arent what you wanted, Zbrush isnt the best tool for hard surface modeling i think you should start over in maya/max
