This happens in Cinema 4D too, so I had to use the viewport mode that uses the default light to illuminate the scene or trim Vray Ligths values down a lot (from ~13000 to 1 lumen or less) to see the materials. Don't know if Vray in Max allows you to use Max's standard lights with its materials, if so, you can set your Vray… -

Great work so far. I have been following since the beginning, but I didn't have any critiques to give. I feel like the materials are too similar and seem kind of plasticky. I am not sure how good the materials are in marmoset, but having dirt or more roughness (something like this) or some kind of pattern/trim might help.… -

Thanks for the crit gsokol, the reason I've left the object the way it is, is because I'm going to use the face weight normals approach so panels (and all baked detail for that fact) are added as decals /trim sheets. Therefore my now highpoly soon to be midpoly once I've converted it will have no surface detail only… -

Nice design and color palette. The purple gems with the gold trim is a great combo. Since the gold is reflective, you would also see hints of purple on the gold near the gem. The wood on the front appears to be really shiny since there so many highlights and dark areas right next to each other. You should use hot spots on… -

and when I said "wont get a nice crisp normal map" I also meant those rounded edges wont catch those awesome edges that you get highlights from lighting. I wouldn't get rid of the floor tiles as it's a classic diner element. The problem is that they are too pronounced with the heavy black lines between them. Make them flatter, less contrast and they will blend in more as a whole. Although I think it's a bit too much to use them as wall trim. The lighting is better but needs…
