Yeah, I agree, waiting 2-3 minutes in between each shot is killing it. But it's a problem mostly for series. I love their Quattro one. it does 7-8 shots at least before freezing for couple minutes. Not portable at all although. Still beats most DSLRs below $2000 imo. In size too.

arsh: bluehost rocks and is like $7/month, way more bandwidth than you'll ever need too. 200 gigs space, 2,000 gigs per month, and they keep upping it, when i signed up it was like 400 gigs per month and 15 gigs space. No reason to get cheapy hosting.
Thanks for posting this. I remember in Max 7 or 8 FBX was completely fubar for certain operations. The interoperability and even a straight import-export was just broken in some cases. I guess they've been doing a whole bunch of work with it over the last while though. I should give it another shot with udk.
If you've got a free Vimeo account then it enables you to download the video file as a .mp4 for the first 7 days (might be 30) from when it was uploaded, so it's then suitable for off-line viewing. Many thanks roosterMAP for creating these vids and sharing them here with people. Looking forward to giving them a watch soon.
muppo how do you know the ssao does not work in dx 11? I've searched a bit for a benchmark program and not really come up with much all the drivers are already up to date. From what I've read so far windows 7 doesn't let you install direct x 9.
Daz, it is definitly. Its a very tricky shader effect. You can see the SSS on the UT2006/7 shots too (The ears of melcom for example) However, gears of war looks awesome, really like the style. Though I cant stand this lately more and more upcoming blooming overkill....and purple blooming argh!
There's a plugin for XSI 6 that enables it. I think there's one out there for maya too, though i haven't tried it. XSI 7 will support it natively. Once the major 3d apps all support it I'm sure you'll see more games supporting it. Just noticed your link was the one with the maya plugin link =]
In max 7 you can fly the camera around using the w,a,s,d keys like in quake and the mouse button to look around. Check the help file for the button name, its one of the ones botton right hand side that has a 'more tab'... drag it down to get the little feet icon.
Small rings need less sides than large ones. The S-curve doesn't need to be 10 sided, 8 is plenty, but 6 or 7 should be fine too if the whole lamp is about 1x1x1 foot large. Image applies to the wallmount. The inner loops need FAR less sides than the outer ones.
